Beginning in early 2025, Empire Grade is a four-piece rock band from Santa Cruz, CA. Blending different eras and genres of rock together, Empire Grade's style is both reminiscent and fresh. 

The group originated with drummer William Crick and bassist Neville Gruhler. They met guitarist and pianist Nick Sax, set up a jam, and had instant musical chemistry. The three musicians immediately set about arranging and writing songs and playing shows across Santa Cruz.

The band played as a three-piece until meeting vocalist Charlie Vail. Charlie's first session with the band made one thing apparent: Vail was here to stay.

The band has become a reputable Santa Cruz band, organized a SoCal tour, and released two singles. They are currently working on their debut album which will be released in late 2026.
