Hard rock from Santa Cruz
Blending different eras and subgenres of rock, Empire Grade's style is reminiscent of the classic hard blues, psychedelic funky grooves, and heavy thrash.
Beginning in December 2024 in Santa Cruz, CA, the group originated with drummer William Crick and bass player Neville Gruhler. After jamming with guitarist and pianist Nick Sax, they saw instant musical chemistry and potential. The three musicians set out immediately arranging and writing songs while playing live across the Santa Cruz area. The band played as a three-piece until jamming with vocalist Charlie Vail, after which it became apparent... Vail was here to stay.
